A cinematic digital home for The Lines of Fate a story about choice, timing, and the lives we don’t live.

A melancholic, story-driven digital experience built to translate a literary fiction series into an immersive online journey. Designed to reflect parallel lives, emotional restraint, and the quiet weight of choice while helping an independent author build a loyal reader community.

Snapshot from the Veltiqo build and experimentation process.

Leanne Kaye is an independent author whose debut series, The Lines of Fate, explores a deceptively simple question: What if one decision quietly split your life in two?

The first book, Just for Now, follows Sophie across parallel timelines shaped by a single reckless night — one unfolding in rain-soaked London, the other in sunlit Los Angeles. This is not a conventional romance. It is literary fiction rooted in regret, timing, intimacy, and the emotional cost of paths not taken.

The challenge was to create a digital presence that feels less like an online bookstore and more like an extension of the novel itself. The website needed to convey tone before plot, restraint before promotion — and atmosphere before conversion.

Veltiqo designed the site as a linear storytelling experience. From the opening line — “Two lives. One question.” visitors are guided through a quiet emotional arc: introduction, tension, reflection, and invitation. The interface mirrors the book’s structure through visual duality: London versus Los Angeles, darkness versus warmth, stillness versus momentum.

A deep midnight navy palette anchors the experience, paired with muted champagne-gold accents that evoke literary prestige rather than commercial urgency. Typography balances classic serif elegance with modern clarity, reinforcing the sense of contemporary literary fiction.

Rather than pushing immediate sales, the experience prioritizes relationship-building. The newsletter is treated as the core asset — a place for readers to follow the journey, receive excerpts, and stay connected as future books unfold. Strategic FAQ sections clarify genre expectations, helping readers self-select and align emotionally with the story before committing.

The result is a digital platform that doesn’t “market a book,” but invites readers into a world — one defined by introspection, parallel lives, and the quiet power of choice.
